Flagstone is a generic term for sedimentary rock split into layers. It is a term used to describe various types of stone laid as “flags” in patterns on outdoor surfaces. Concrete flag paving offers a clean, hardwearing and aesthetically pleasing surface, offering designers the potential to use elements of a larger scale than block paving. Flags are particularly useful for pedestrian areas, matching the appearance of stone but with greatly improved stability and slip resistance, and providing a cost-effective alternative.
