Cool Roof Tiles (Heat Reflective Tiles)

Overview

A cool roof is one that reflects the sun’s heat and emits absorbed radiation back into the atmosphere. The roof literally stays cooler and reduces the amount of heat transferred to the building below, keeping the building cooler and at more constant temperature.

Let’s understand the concept

Cool roof tiles reflects and emit the suns heat back instead of transferring it to the building below. The two basic characteristics that determine the ‘coolness’ of a roof are solar reflectance (SR) and thermal emittance. Both properties are measured from 0 to 1 and the higher the value, the “cooler” the roof. A cool roof is one that will both reflect the light and UV rays from the sun while also retaining very little heat.

Made with advanced technology ThermaRes Grit Granules, it has the power to lower surface temperature by up to 20ºC, which not only keeps the heat out of your homes, but also brings down the use of Air Conditioners and electricity consumption. These roof insulation tiles are the only tiles which are made with Nano Titanium Dioxide, which is the most effective compound used globally in reduction of air pollution by reducing carbon dioxide emission. It weighs very less compared to conventional roofing system and is made of anti-skid properties which give a better grip and easy maintenance.

FUNCTIONALITY

High Albedo

A high solar reflectance capability that will reduce heat island effect, save energy – indoor temperature reduction in buildings without air-conditioning and cooling load reduction agent in the air-conditioned buildings

Lifetime Performance

A durable thermal insulation product that most often lasts the lifetime of a building; reduced resource requirement for replacements due to natural disasters, wind-driven rain, moisture damage and vermin.

Disaster Resistance

Resistance to damage from hail and high winds and can sustain winds in excess of 125 miles per hour that would strip off most other roofing material

Economical Cost

More economical than other roofing products on a life-cycle basis; significant energy and in-maintenance savings

GREEN ASPECT
  • Beyond Kilowatts – benefits of saving energy (25%-40%)

  • Minimally processed product with reduced non-renewable material use

  • Reduced smog from urban heat island effect – high SRI, high thermal resistance and thermal transmittance

  • Reduced heat ingress and flux when the sun cooks the roof

  • Some part of Stone Grinding Slurry waste is also used in the non-wearing layer

  • Negligible environmental footprint

  • Longer life cycle
