The British website, www.paving.org.uk refers to precast concrete kerbs as the “unsung heroes of our roads and streets, ensuring the safety of road users and pedestrians, and contributing to the paved environment over many years.”
Kerb indicates the boundary between the pavement and shoulder of the footpath. It is desirable to provide kerb on urban roads and other pathways having footpaths or kerb parking space on either side of the pavement. Kerbstones is one of the more important contributors to an aesthetic value of the project.
